Cruel, Bloody, Torture and Murder.
Its real life, real feelings and real suffering that is allowed to carry on in a nation sometimes described as a nation of 'animal lovers'. What a joke.
Animals are used in the testing of chemicals, weed killers, shampoo, food colouring/additives, household/cleaning products, drugs, medical techniques and pet foods. Although testing cosmetics on animals was banned in this country, animal tested cosmetic products are filling our shelves from abroad. It was also recently uncovered that scientists were testing Botox (a cosmetic) on mice in the UK.
This Pie Chart shows how many of the animals experimented on (example taken from Australia) die because of what is done to them.
The suffering that these animals indure is unimaginable. One of the many awful examples is 'Britches' a baby monkey who was taken from his mother on the 1st day of his life and had his eyes crudely sewn shut, they then strapped a device to his head which played screaching and banging noises. Blinded, alone and tormented by constant frightening noises he clung to a pole in an attempt to find comfort. The conditions soon drove Britches to insanity and he had uncontrollable muscle spasms and clung to himself. At five weeks old he was rescued by Animal Liberaters who had his eyes treated by a Vet and slowly nursed him back to health. After being shown love and compassion, the muscle spasms stopped and his hair grew back. He was eventually introduced to a sorrogate mother monkey and lived happily with her.

'Britches' in an 'experiment' to see result of blindness on developement
The Blind Association has stated that experiments such as these are not acceptable and scientists should study blind human children in their own homes because this would give a much more useful conclusion.
